CPRE Devon – My Outdoors

My Outdoors Competition 2017!

This year’s competition is now open and and entries must be with us by 23rd June 2017.  Please contact us for an application form.

CPRE Devon are supporting teacher’s outdoor learning adventures with our 2017    ‘My Outdoors’ competition. This competition will run from 1st April to 23rd June 2017, and is open to all children of primary school age, and primary schools in Devon.

We love the countryside, and hope to encourage children to appreciate their local countryside by asking them to draw or paint a visual representation of their local environment or favourite outdoor space. Pupils might like to use part of their school grounds, their local town or village, their garden, a park, playground, green space nearby, or even a school trip destination?  What is their favourite thing or place outside? There is no reason why the project couldn’t link with existing outdoor learning plans and visits already in the school diary. Or it could be an opportunity to go somewhere entirely new. ‘My Outdoors’ has potential links to many areas of the curriculum, including Geography, Maths, English, Science even History.

Entries must be submitted on paper (A4 or A3 size only).

Prizes will be awarded in 2 age categories – Reception + Key Stages 1 and 2.

All entries should have the child’s name, age and school on the back.  Multiple entries should be collated together, and submitted by the school (not individual children). Entries will be judged and prizes announced and awarded before the end of the summer term.

A top prize will be awarded to an individual in each key stage, as well as to their local school. Further runner up prizes may be awarded if available.

All entrants will receive a CPRE Devon ‘My Outdoors’ wristband; Prize winners will receive a framed certificate. As well as prizes for individual winners, winning schools will receive a plaque and £200 to spend on further outdoor learning as well as CPRE membership.

For any more details of how to enter the competition please contact us on 01392 966737 or email secretary@cpredevon.org.uk,

We look forward to seeing what ‘MY OUTDOORS’ means to Devon’s children!
