The Holsworthy Memorial Hall was packed with 250 people from all over Devon and beyond for the latest seminar on “Understanding Commercial Wind and Solar Power”. The Seminar was conducted by Tony Milton, Chairman of CPRE Devon, and speakers included Dr Phil Bratby, an energy expert, CPRE North Devon Chairman Bob Barfoot and Local MP Geoffrey Cox QC. The presentations sparked some spirited discussions and Mr Cox faced some robust questions from the floor.
He explained that he was now looking at wind turbine applications which had gone to appeal in this area, so that he could refer them to the Secretary of State, Eric Pickles, for review as opposed to being decided on appeal by the Planning Inspectorate’. Many have asked for copies of the two main presentations.
