The impact of a 67m wind turbine on a Grade 1 listed heritage asset

This photo has been taken by a local resident looking south from the A39, of the 67m high wind turbine, which has this week been erected at Collaton Farm, Kilkhampton, North Cornwall. Planning permission had been granted by Cornwall  County Council, despite objection from English Heritage.   The impact on the setting of the Grade I Listed St James Church, Kilkhampton can clearly be seen.   There is no doubt that the landscape of  the South West is being fundamentally altered by the building of these huge wind turbines and now,  as this photo shows, so too is our heritage.kilkhampton, north cornwall
