Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Woodtown, near Alverdiscott – application submitted to Torridge District Council.

We have submitted our objection to this latest BESS application. (Ref 1/0939/2025/FULM) We concluded that:

1. The application contains many misleading, incorrect and unsupported statements which should be corrected before the application is determined.

2. There is no need for the proposed BESS since it would not get a grid connection for at least 10 years.

3. The proposed BESS is counter to North Devon and Torridge Planning Policy ST14 as it would neither protect nor enhance the local landscape character.
